Excerpt from laudatory speech by art historian Yvonne Türler:

"Photography in the sense of portrayal is the point of departure for the artist and her works. Portrayal is, however, never the endpoint. She is not aiming to reproduce an accurate image of reality. Long obsolete is the photographic technique used in the first half of the 19th century that once strove to attain a degree of reality. It has become secondary or is at the very least still one aspect of the artistic process. Eva Iten does not focus on reproducing reality as it exists, but rather on creating an artistic reality that does not primarily emerge through the camera, but arises through the artist's personal view, thereby opening new perspectives or even inviting viewers to embark on a journey of discovery by tracing one's own inner images."
